In the beginning . . .

My love for Labradors started in1996 when I got my first unregistered Labrador, Chekan. I took Chekan for basic obedience and got involved in dog showing through Northern Free State Kennel Club. I took Chekan to a few open shows and decided its time to take it to the next step. In 1998 I bought my first KUSA registered Labrador from Wilma Keyser of Mariska Labradors. Mariska Tanshè a black female.

Tanshè and myself entered our first championship show in 1999. At her second ch-show in 2000 at NFSKC, I’ve won my first CC with Tanshè. I was hooked!

In 2000 I fell in love with Stafford Baker’s Ch Marsta Secret Duke and Duke’s daughter Ch Sunspot Hot Lady of Marsta. I contacted Stafford and my name was put a waiting list for a yellow male puppy.

It was not long before Stafford contacted me with a yellow male for me. On 29 May 2000 Marsta Ibn Sharac (later Ch) was born. Sharac was out of Ch Landrust Konyak x Ch Sunspot Hot Lady of Marsta. Sharac became my foundation male and sired several of our breeding/show dogs. Sharac was made up as a breed champion and declared 29 July 2002.

In 2001 I bought Adamasdor Kimma Mikooi from Renier Jansen van Vuuren. Kimma was out of Ch Tapeatom ‘L’ for Leather of Dennegeur x Ch Adamasdor Calamity Cato. In 2003, Kimma’s litter sister Adamasdor Venus Viool of Ablesing also came to me.
In June 2003, I registered my kennel name Ablesing.

Venus is my foundation bitch and most of my dogs are decended from Sharac or Venus or a combination of the two.

Sharac sired a litter to Lizette Smith’s Ailsacraig Ivory Fantasy of Lambrada and I took a yellow male from that litter. 1 August 2003 Lambrada Dreamboy Barku of Ablesing was born. Barku sired several litters over the years and you will find him in a few pedigrees all over the world.

Breeding and showing Labradors is my passion from the very start.
 

At the moment . . .

I have only a few breeding dogs. At the moment I have only one stud male, Lambrada Ibn Top Ranger of Ablesing. My older male, Lambrada Dreamboy Barku of Ablesing is now retired and I am raising a male puppy at the moment, Jensine Drogo Czerwony of Ablesing.

My breeding bitches at the moment is De Brack Polly Dora of Ablesing (Micca), Ablesing Lekker Girl (Astrid), Ch Ablesing Liefde Vi Klara(Klara) and Ablesing Purple Rain(Violet). Adamasdor Kimma Mikooi, Ablesing Pipers Promise, Ablesing Tanshes Memory are all retired now. I am also raising two female puppies at the moment, Keeversfontein Keep Da Promise (Romi) and Ablesing Moja Pani (Moja).

Brag news

Ch Ablesing Liefde Vi Klara (Sire:  Ch Sea-birds Globetrotter of Amadeuze X De Brack Polly Dora of Ablesing) was made-up as a South African Breed Champion in 2013. 

 Klara also won Best in Show at the Labrador Retriever Kennel Club Championship show 2013. 

March 2014, at the AGM of the LRKC Klara was also awarded Victrix Ludorum and Supreme Champion for 2013.
